2. The second form may be the adult application. It is recommended that at least one parent or guardian sign up to be involved with the troop. You have the choice of becoming a committee member or an assistant scoutmaster. As a committee member, you may sit in on boards of review for the boys and have a vote at committee meetings. As an assistant scoutmater you may sign off on boys' requirements in their books. There is a need for both positions, and holding one position or another does not restrict what you are allowed to do as far as activities with the troop. These forms are also available at troop meetings or at the Scout Office. 3. Troop By-Laws Acknowledgement form. The by-laws need to be read by all parents/guardians, and also by the scout. The parents and the scout then sign the acknowledgement form and return it to the troop.
